Selena Gomez tells fans to stay true

Selena Gomez says you should never change who you are to impress a guy.

The 19-year-old star - who is dating 17-year-old Justin Bieber - admits she has tried to please ex-boyfriends by altering her personality but she would never do it again because it made her "miserable" and she insists her female fans should follow her advice.

She told Philippines magazine Candy: "The only thing I ever tell my fans is it's just not worth it to be someone you're not.

"I've conformed to a lot of guys that I liked before; it's very easy to want to be what they want you to be. But in the end, it just wasn't enjoyable and I was miserable half the time. Now, I'm very straightforward."

Selena also cryptically praised Justin as a boyfriend, by adding: "The best person is someone you can be yourself with."

The young couple have been dating since March and Justin recently admitted he was "shocked" when the 'Monte Carlo' star agreed to go out with him.

Speaking about how their relationship started, the 'Baby' singer said: "I was pretty shocked. She's very beautiful. We started as friends like two years ago, so we've been friends for a long time, so that's pretty much kind of how it started."

Brad Pitt can't go "backwards" in his life.

The 47-year-old actor - who raises six children with partner Angelina Jolie - has a "psychological defect" which means he won't rectify a mistake once he realises what has happened.

His "defect" even affects small aspects of his day like missing a turning when he is driving.

"If I'm driving down the road and I miss a turn, I have to keep going forwards. I can't reverse. It's some kind of psychological defect. I don't know the reason why. I don't like to go backwards. It's just not what I'm good at."

The 'Moneyball' star admits he has always behaved in the same way, and is focus on the next thing hindered his sporting career at school.

Brad - who was previously married to Jennifer Aniston - added: "In high school I played all the sports. I went from one to the other. I played football. I wrestled one year. "Maybe if I had stuck with one I could have been great. But it's just that, for better or worse, I want to keep moving on."

Lady Gaga warned off new man

Lady Gaga's friends have warned that her new boyfriend will break her heart.

The 25-year-old singer has been dating 30-year-old Taylor Kinney since meeting him on the shoot for her music video 'You and I' but pals are worried 'The Vampire Diaries' actor will cause her heartbreak after his former girlfriend accused him of being a cheat.

A source told America's Star magazine: "All of her friends are telling her to watch her step - Taylor is bound to break her heart. It's only a matter of time before he finds someone else."

Taylor's ex Brittany Sackett - an estate agent from San Diego - has claimed she was still in a relationship with the actor when he first started dating Gaga, who split from her lover Luc Carl for the second time earlier this year.

Brittany said: "She was with my boyfriend, and I found out he was cheating on me."

The pop megastar wrote 'You and I' about her Luc and she recently admitted she gets emotional when she sings the song because it brings up memories from their relationship.

She explained: "There is not one song on any of my records that wasn't written by me, and I think when you write your own music you find ways to reinvent [the songs] emotionally through yourself and performance so that they are different every night and that song you know, sometimes it's about the guys and sometimes it's about the fans."

Jennifer Lopez 'rising above' split from Marc

Jennifer Lopez is "rising above" her marriage split.

The 'On the Floor' singer's fellow 'American Idol' judge Randy Jackson insists her separation from husband Marc Anthony in July, after seven years together, is not getting in the way of her career.

Ahead of her performance at the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas at the weekend he told People: "We've been doing auditions and she's rising above.

"She's strong, she's a trooper, she's a great girl. She's amazing."

During her set on Saturday night (24.09.11), Jennifer gave an energetic performance, urging the crowd to go crazy for her.

She said from the stage: "I don't want to see anyone trying to act cool around here. I want to see you dancing and jumping and singing and acting like a fool."

Three times married Jennifer has previously admitted splitting from Marc - with whom she has three-year-old twins Max and Emme - was the "hardest decision" she has ever made, but remains optimistic for the future.

She said: "Sometimes it doesn't work - and that's sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love. It's still my biggest dream."

The 42-year-old star also recently re-signed to judge 'American Idol' when it returns to screen later this year for a reported $20 million.

BEVERLY HILLS, California — David Beckham says his new baby girl is nothing like his three sons.

Harper's three brothers are also on dad's side when it comes to her eventual dating life. Beckham says he plans to be "overprotective in every way possible" and his sons will be "exactly the same." He talked about Harper while promoting his new fragrance, Homme by David Beckham, recently in Beverly Hills.

Noel Gallagher slams publicity hungry Lady Gaga

Noel Gallagher has blasted Lady Gaga - claiming her career is based on "meat suits" and "controversy".

The 'AKA. What A Life' singer thinks the 'Bad Romance' star is good at getting attention, but he doesn't think her music will stand the test of time.

He said: "It's all about the meat suit and the controversy. Is it about music? Really? She's got the publicity side sorted, but where's the music.

"Her album gets played a lot around my house by my daughter and it's Madonna-lite. Madonna was hardcore. She took it to the edge musically as well as everything else.

"Twenty years from now, will we listen to Lady Gaga? No. She might think she is making a stand for the freaks and the weirdos. But they're not going to have any decent music to play are they?"

The former Oasis star - who has an 11-year-old daughter Anais with his ex-wife Meg Matthews and two sons, three-year-old Donovan and 10-month-old Sonny, with his current spouse Sara MacDonald - is disappointed that most current rock bands have nothing interesting to say and laments the lack of a "focal point" for rock 'n' roll.

He added in an interview with Q magazine: "Who will retell the rock 'n' roll story for a new generation? The problem with bands these days is half of them get the music right but you read an interview and think, 'I can't buy into them as people.'

"It's become this prevailing thing where, 'It's all about the music.' It's not. It's more than that. The way you look or what you say or what you stand for is crucial. People are so wary of being the spokesman for a generation. It's a tag, but still . I wish someone would provide a focal point."

Elton John starts 3-year Las Vegas run at Caesars

British singer Elton John performs during his concert in Istanbul July 5, 2011.[Photo/Agencies]

LAS VEGAS — Elton John is returning to Las Vegas for a three-year headlining gig at Caesars Palace.

The five-time Grammy winner was set to perform Wednesday night for the first of 16 shows scheduled through October, the first performances of a new show titled "The Million Dollar Piano."

The remainder of the shows during the three-year run have not yet been announced.

John says it's named for the instrument he'll play during the show — a piano that took manufacturer Yamaha four years to build.

"It's going to surprise a lot of people," John said of the instrument earlier this year as the show was announced.

"This isn't like the old days," John said of the new show. "It's going to be certainly different from anything you've seen from me before, as was 'The Red Piano,'" his previous show at Caesars.

His return comes more than two years after that five-year stint that ended in 2009. The run was originally planned for three years but was extended because of demand.

"The Red Piano" included risque imagery — with high-tech videos and large, inflatable props — plus the hits John has become known for during a career that's spanned more than 40 years.

Jason Gastwirth, senior vice president of entertainment for casino owner Caesars Entertainment Corp., believes John's run could be extended again.

"I think it's very possible, both on duration and number of shows," Gastwirth said. "There's been such a large appetite by his fans to come see the show."

John is one of music's most decorated stars, known for songs including "Candle in the Wind," "Rocket Man" and "Bennie and the Jets." He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and honored by the Kennedy Center in 2004 for his lifetime contributions to performing arts.

John won an Academy Award in 1994 for his original song, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," from Disney's "The Lion King."

Taylor Lautner worries girls just want wolfman

Taylor Lautner worries girls are only interested in him because of his role in 'Twilight'.

The 19-year-old actor - who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the movie franchise - has previously been linked to Taylor Swift and his 'Abduction' co-star Lily Collins but admits he finds the dating scene tough because he never knows if women want him or Jacob.

He explained: "You definitely have to deal with whether girls are interested in me or Jacob. Sometimes it's hard. Time always lets you know what a person is really like.

"The fans love the characters and they would love anyone who is playing those characters. I'm just the guy who was able to bring Jacob to life."

Although Taylor and his co-star Robert Pattinson play love rivals in the vampire film franchise - their characters both being in love with Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart - he insists the rivalry between them doesn't spill over in to real life and they all have a great relationship off set.

In an interview with heat magazine, Taylor explained: "We've been filming together for three or four years and we've all become close. We're great friends and so supportive of one another. It would be a nightmare if there was any rivalry. Having to deal with that for years would be impossible.

"Robert's a great guy. He's hilarious and I think that's the thing people don't see enough of with him. I'm always laughing when I'm with that guy. He's hysterical."

Scarlett Johansson says privacy invasion is unjust, wrong

Actress Scarlett Johansson poses at the 5th annual Spike TV's Guys Choice awards in Culver City, California June 4, 2011.[Photo/Agencies]

Actress Scarlett Johansson on Wednesday spoke out for the first time since leaked nude photos of her appeared on several websites, saying that being a celebrity does not give others the right to invade her privacy.

Earlier this month, the "Iron Man 2" star joined the growing list of Hollywood celebrities, including "High School Musical" actress Vanessa Hudgens and "Friends With Benefits" star Mila Kunis, who have had private photos leaked online at the hands of hackers.

In an interview with CNN, Johansson said celebrities are no different than anyone else when it comes to the right of privacy.

"Just because you're an actor or make films or whatever doesn't mean you're not entitled to your own personal privacy ... if that is sieged in some way, it feels unjust. It feels wrong," said Johansson.

The actress said life in the spotlight -- and in this case, asserting herself in instances where her privacy has been invaded -- can be a struggle.

"It's an adjustment, but I think there are certain instances where you give a lot of yourself and finally you have to kind of put your foot down and say, 'Oh wait, I'm taking it back.'"

Within hours of the photos appearing online on September 15, Johansson's lawyer fired off cease and desist letters to multiple websites. The photos have been taken down by most outlets.

Lady Gaga sues co. over trademark bids in her name

Lady Gaga performs during the second day of the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada September 24, 2011.[Photo/Agencies]

NEW YORK — Lady Gaga says a Nevada-based company is trying to horn in on her fame to market cosmetics and jewelry. She's suing in New York.

The Grammy Award-winning pop star sued Excite Worldwide LLC on Monday. The lawsuit says the company applied without her permission to trademark the names "Lady Gaga" and "Lady Gaga LG" for makeup and baubles.

Excite Worldwide didn't immediately respond to telephone messages Wednesday at numbers listed for the company in Chicago and Henderson, Nevada.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office records show the applications haven't been approved. But the "Poker Face" singer says they're muddying her efforts to add to her own suite of trademarks surrounding her name.

Her suit says customers could be duped into thinking she's affiliated with Excite Worldwide's products. She's seeking unspecified damages.

Fox's 'New Girl' invited to stay for full TV season

Actress Zooey Deschanel arrives at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles August 7, 2011.[Photo/Agencies]

It looks like Fox television's "New Girl" will be around for awhile.

The TV comedy starring Zooey Deschanel got the first full season order of the new TV season on Wednesday, after proving one of the brightest spots in Fox's fall line-up.

Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said the network had ordered an additional 11 episodes of the program, after just two have been broadcast. With more than nine million viewers, "New Girl" is Fox's highest-rated fall comedy debut in 10 years.

"We love the charming Zooey Deschanel and the entire cast," said Reilly. "It's great that audiences have responded so positively so far and we're confident that even more people will embrace the show -- and more comedy on FOX -- this season."

The comedy about a ditsy 20-something woman and her three male housemates has so far outshone Fox's costly and much-hyped new dinosaur adventure series "Terra Nova", which attracted just nine million viewers when it debuted on Monday.

It has also bested "Glee" -- the 2010 pop culture sensation whose audience is falling in its third season. Some 8.3 million people watched the quirky musical comedy on Tuesday.

Fox's other headline new venture "The X Factor" drew a smaller (12.1 million) total audience than many industry watchers had expected for its premiere last week.

Creator Simon Cowell had predicted that "X Factor" would trump his old singing contest "American Idol", also on Fox, in the ratings. But Fox executives say that last week's debut audience for "X Factor" was in line with the network's expectations.

After the first week of the new 2011-12 TV season, Fox was the top network in primetime among 18-49 year olds most prized by advertisers, while CBS came first in overall viewers for the third straight year.

David Beckham gets sons' help

David Beckham sought the advice of his three sons for his new men's fragrance.

The soccer star is to release his latest scent, David Beckham Homme, and admits he wanted to get the opinions of Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, and six-year-old Cruz before making any final decisions.

David - who also has 11-week-old daughter, Harper Seven, with fashion designer wife Victoria - told Us Weekly magazine: "Anytime I get a fragrance to try, I give all of my sons a tester. Kids are so honest, so they say they love it or they hate it. As soon as they smelled this one, they were like, 'We love it!' "

The 36-year-old athlete describes the citrus-based scent as "masculine" and "very fresh" as says it was influenced by what he normally wears.

He said: "It has always got to be something I like, based on something I know another man would like or that women like to smell. I always try to go for a scent that is kind of my personality and the things I do day in and day out."

Arnold Schwarzenegger orders bronze statue of himself

Arnold Schwarzenegger has ordered an eight foot tall bronze statue of himself.

The actor has personally commissioned at least three "heroic" scale bronze statues which depict him in his body building prime.

The statues are all modelled on a smaller sculpture created in 1980, the year Arnold won his seventh Mr Olympia title, and cost around £100,000 each.

As many as seven of the statues will be made in total, with Tim Parks - the owner of TW Bronze, which is pouring the bronze for the statues - receiving a visit from Arnold, who told him he definitely wants "one for himself."

The 'Terminator' star even took a tour of Tim's operation, and told him "This is fantastic. This is fantastic," upon seeing the statues of himself. He only requested one minor change be made, that its patina be made a little darker.

The first of the statues is being shipped to Thal in Austria, the town where Arnold was born, which houses a museum dedicated to him. The second is set for Columbus, Ohio, where the Arnold Fitness Weekend - inspired by the star - is an annual event.

The third completed statue will be given to the former Governor of California.

When the subject of how many should be made in total, Tim suggested it "ought to be your number," in reference to the seven Mr Olympia titles he earned from 1970 to 1975 and again in 1980, to which Arnold replied: "perfect".

Arnold, 64, is currently locked in a divorce battle with his wife, Maria Shriver, after it emerged he had fathered a child with their housekeeper, Mildred Buena, and he has also moved back into acting, with roles line up in 'The Expendables 2' and he is currently in talks to appear in independent film 'Captive'.

While on stage at the Las Vegas music event Gaga paid tribute to Jamey before performing her song 'Hair' as a video montage with his photo played in the background.

She told the crowd: "I lost a little monster this week and I'd like to dedicate this song to him. Tonight, Jamey, I know you're up there and looking at us and you're not a victim. Bullying is for losers. Put your hands up for Jamey!"

First lady, TV show bring attention to veterans

First lady Michelle Obama laughs as she boards Air Force One in Washington to accompany President Barack Obama to New York September 19, 2011.[Photo/Agencies]

LOS ANGELES — Michelle Obama found an unusual ally — reality TV — in her effort to bring attention to the needs of military families.

The first lady, appearing Sunday on the two-part season premiere of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," says the program was the right platform for the cause.

"We live in a media age, and one of the things we still share is our love of television" and the stories it can tell so effectively, Obama said. "We thought this was an extraordinary venue to highlight the struggles and challenges and triumphs of a special family."

Barbara Marshall of Fayetteville, North Carolina, who served in the Navy for 15 years, was dismayed by the number of homeless female veterans and established Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House to provide shelter, counseling and other aid. When the house grew cramped and inadequate, "Extreme Makeover" and the first lady stepped in.

She joined with series host Ty Pennington, a local builder and community volunteers on the Jubilee House project and was on hand at the unveiling to surprise Marshall.

The episode focuses on a "powerful story, powerful woman, powerful group of women who are coming together and helping one another. So we're pretty excited about this as a vehicle for telling their story," Obama said.

Marshall is evidence that many military families who face their own challenges "still find ways to serve others," Obama said.

The show should also carry the message that strong, independent veterans might not ask for help and seek assistance, she said. Obama said she hadn't seen the program in its finished version.

"So it's incumbent upon us to not make them ask for help. And, hopefully, by watching this show, viewers will get some ideas in their heads of how they can come together, whether it's as individuals, or as church groups, or as school groups, or as teachers or as employers" and find ways to help military families, she said.

The first lady is also seen on more familiar ground in the show, giving Pennington a tour of the White House grounds.

She and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, help lead Joining Forces, an initiative intended to increase public awareness and support of families of the men and women serving in the military.

Schwarzenegger to write 'unbelievably true' memoir

Former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger shakes hands with fans at Ballhausplatz in Vienna, June 21, 2011.[Photo/Agencies]

Arnold Schwarzenegger is writing a memoir about his rise to fame and unlikely transition from Austrian-born champion bodybuilder to Hollywood action star to California governor, his publisher said on Thursday.

Schwarzenegger, 64, who in May announced his separation from wife Maria Shriver after admitting to fathering a child out of wedlock, is "chronicling his embodiment of the American Dream" in his second autobiography, publisher Simon & Schuster said.

The memoir, titled "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," was acquired by Simon & Schuster after Schwarzenegger began working on the book last year. It will be released in October, 2012.

Named after his 1990 film "Total Recall" near the pinnacle of his movie career, the book will return to Schwarzenegger's roots where he started lifting weights as a teenager in a small Austrian village before winning Mr. Universe titles and moving to the United States at the age of 21.

Schwarzenegger will discuss his time spent in Venice Beach, California training in Gold's gym and winning the Mr. Olympia title seven times before overcoming a thick accent to establish himself as a star in films like 1982's "Conan The Barbarian."

The book will chronicle his transition from movie tough guy, the Terminator, to an entrepreneur with businesses such as Planet Hollywood to politics where as California governor he was affectionately dubbed the Governator and attempted to champion environmental policies.

But four months after he left office, Schwarzenegger said in May that he was halting discussions for a new "Terminator" movie and all other Hollywood projects in order to focus on personal matters after admitting he fathered a secret child 13 years ago with his family's housekeeper.

He was then ridiculed in the media, some outlets called him the Sperminator, and Shriver, a member of the Kennedy dynasty, filed for a divorce in July to end their 25-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple has four children together, including teenage son Christopher who suffered a serious surfing accident later in July.

Schwarzenegger has since planned to shoot action roles in movies "Last Stand" and "The Expendables 2".

A spokeswoman for Simon & Schuster would not comment on whether the book would discuss his divorce and sex scandal. The book will be published in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, and the United Kingdom. German rights have been sold to Hoffmann und Campe and Dutch rights to A.W. Bruna.

"Nobody has a life story even close to his. To go from poor immigrant to world class athlete to the biggest movie star in the world to governor of California is an incredible journey," Jonathan Karp, publisher of Simon & Schuster, said in a statement.

Schwarzenegger's first book, "The Education of a Bodybuilder, has never been out of print since its release in 1977, Simon & Schuster said.

Lady Gaga wants bullying meeting with Obama

Lady Gaga plans to meet with President Barack Obama in a bid to stop bullying.

The 'Born This Way' singer has been left distraught by the death of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer from Buffalo, New York, who committed suicide last Sunday (18.09.11) after enduring years of ridicule about his sexuality.

Gaga - who is a prominent supporter of gay rights - wants to petition the US leader to create legislation which makes bullying at any age a crime.

In a series of tweets, she wrote: "The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someones life.

"Jamey Rodemeyer, 14 yrs old, took his life because of bullying. Bullying must become be illegal. It is a hate crime.

"I am meeting with our President. I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it #MakeALawForJamey (sic)"

Jamey had regularly blogged about the bullying he was suffering at school but his tormentors also followed him into cyberspace and several messages were left on his account on social media site Formspring calling him "gay and ugly" and encouraging him to kill himself.

On Saturday night (17.09.11) he posted the prophetic line "don't forget me when I come crying to heaven's door" from Gaga's song 'The Queen' on his Facebook page followed by a tribute to the pop superstar and a message saying he was looking forward to seeing his late great-grandmother. Hours later he was tragically found dead.

Sandra Bullock planning secret wedding?

Sandra Bullock planning secret wedding?

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are reportedly planning a secret wedding.

The 47-year-old actress and the 'Change-Up' star - who split from Scarlett Johansson after two years of marriage in December 2010 - are believed to have recently vacationed in Wyoming, and while on vacation the pair discussed the idea of marriage after the actor bonded with her 20-month-old son Louis.

A source told America's Star magazine: "Ryan told her he was ready to tie the knot whenever she wants. And after seeing how quickly she's bonded with baby Louis, she decided she's ready to pull the trigger, too.

"So they started discussing the logistics of pulling off a low-key, barefoot wedding that would reflect their laid-back lifestyle."

Scarlett - who was briefly linked to Sean Penn following her divorce from Ryan - is reported to be happy for the pair.

A source said: "Since Scarlett likes and respects Sandra so much, it doesn't bother her that she's with Ryan now."

Victoria Beckham's girly collection

Victoria Beckham's girly collection

Victoria Beckham says her latest clothing line channels her "inner girl".

The singer-turned-designer recently launched her second range - Victoria by Victoria Beckham, a more affordable dress collection - and says she was inspired by outfits she wanted to wear and show everyone she doesn't take herself too seriously.

Victoria - who recently gave birth to her first daughter, Harper Seven, a sister for brothers, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, and six-year-old Cruz - said: "It's definitely channelling my inner girl. I started this collection before I was pregnant and the doctors told me at first I was having a boy. So mainly I wanted to do dresses that I wanted, that weren't 'out there' - and at the same time show that, contrary to what most people think, I do have a sense of humour."

Victoria - who also has her more expensive line, Victoria Beckham - says the dresses took a long time coming because she wanted to make everything was just right.

She told Britain's Grazia magazine: "It has taken ages to get this together because it took a long time to find a factory that could deliver the right quality at the right price. Otherwise we'd have done it sooner."

Brad Pitt under pressure to marry

Brad Pitt under pressure to marry

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's children are "putting on the heat" for them to get married.

The Hollywood couple have been together since 2005 and raise six children - Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – who Brad admits are keen for them to tie the knot.

In an interview with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres which is due to air tomorrow (22.09.11), he said: "The kids are putting on the heat. They really are."

However, Brad, 47, and Angelina, 36, have always maintained they would not wed until gay marriage is made legal throughout the U.S.

He said: "We live in this great country that is about freedom. It is defined by our freedom and equality and yet we allow this discrimination to go on every day and that's not what we're about."

When asked by Ellen if gay marriage was legal, they would marry immediately, Brad replied: "It seems."

The 'Moneyball' star has also addressed comments he made about his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, in which he is quoted saying he "pretended the marriage was something it wasn't," saying he feels his statement was taken out of context.

He said: "I don't know what was pieced together or put together. It has no reference to the past. And I think it's a shame that I can't say something nice about Angie without Jen being dragged in. You know, she doesn't deserve it."
