Robbie Williams haunted by royalty

Robbie Williams haunted by royalty

Robbie Williams is being haunted by the ghost of King Henry VIII's last wife.

The 'Bodies' singer is convinced the £7 million mansion he shares with his girlfriend Ayda Field is inhabited by the spirit of Catherine Parr, the infamous British monarch's sixth and final spouse.

But while he often "feels the presence" of Catherine - who once lived on the estate in Wiltshire, South West England - the 35-year-old singer is never frightened.

He explained: "I think there are ghosts. I haven't seen or heard anything. I've definitely felt something but it's not scary. I'm very, very pleased to say.

"It's Catherine's Parr's old house. In fact, we're actually not in the old house, we're in her barn."

Robbie and Ayda moved from Los Angeles to Britain earlier this year to prepare for his musical comeback.

The former Take That star is enjoying his new lifestyle, but admits he wouldn't have ever imagined himself living in the countryside a few years ago.

Robbie said: "I can't even believe that a 35-year old me has bought a 500-year-old place. Because at 26 or 27 there's no way that I would have chosen to be there or go anywhere near it.

"But it's lovely and the people have been great with us."

It's not the first time Robbie's house has been linked to paranormal activity.

The star reportedly purchased the property because it is crossed with 'ley lines' - invisible energy routes believed to attract aliens.

Robbie is "obsessed" with extra-terrestrials, and claims to have seen three UFOs during his lifetime.

Japanese Toy : GNU-DOU VF-11B Valkyrie

Name VF-11B Valkyrie
Toy Line GNU-DOU
Number 003
Manufacturer Yamato
Released 2008
Materials ABS, POM, PVC
Scale
Category Action Figure, Macross / Robotech
Series Macross Plus
Designer Shoji Kawamori
Orig. Price ¥3,150

In the anime Macross plus, the VF-11B Valkyrie is the standard service valkyrie until the decision was made to replace it with one of two fighters - the YF-19 or the YF-21. While the new fighters are more advanced, the VF-11B is no slouch....

In a way the VF-11B is the little valk that could.. it's the underdog, and I always have a soft spot for the underdog.

The GNU-DOU VF-11B is available at Angolz.com

I always liked the design of this battroid, and I actually liked the early Yamato 1/72 valkyrie, despite the QC issues. I just thought it was a great design that didn't get enough love - until now that is.

The VF-11B is the third entry into the GNU-DOU line and it keeps up the fantastic quality of the previous releases. The paint detail is crisp, the molding sharp, and there is not a screw hole in sight. Accessories are sparse with only a few variant hands and a gun, but really, that's all it needs.

The gun seems a bit big for the figure but it looks damn cool. There is also a shield that pops into the arm with a ball joint.

I'm not sure what the exact makeup of the materials here is, but it seems that the body and limbs are made of ABS while the jointwork is made out of POM.

In addition to the awesome articulation, the VF-11B has a moveable antenna, and moveable wings.

So, if I haven't beat it into your head yet, go get one. Where Revoltech has chosen to also release their versions of the YF-19 and 21, they have decided to overlook the VF-11B - so this is your only chance to get one at this time. You can get yours at Angolz.com

Number
Manufacturer Konami
Released 2008
Materials ABS, PVC
Scale
Category Action Figure, Anime Figure, Character Toy
Series
Designer Masaki Apsy, Fumikane Shimada
Orig. Price ¥4,200

MMS Type Fighter Asuka comes from Wave 8 of Konami's popular Busou Shinki action figure line. MMS stands for Multi Movable System, and is a body style created by Masaki Apsy that is used with other toys in addition to Busou Shinki.

Buy Busou Shinki Asuka at Angolz.com

The main idea behind Busou Shinki is that these toys are 1:1 scale representations of armored fighters that combat in the free Japanese MMO Game called Battle Rondo. In it, you can unlock characters with special codes that come with the figures, and make them do battle on-line. It is a cool concept, but it's all in Japanese - a big barrier for most of us. Still, the figures themselves are very cool.

Different Busou Shinki figures are designed by different renowned Japanese artists, and the Asuka figure was designed by Fumikane Shimada, who also created the Mecha Musume series. What is it about armored girls that get the fans all worked up? I dunno, but I like it.

Asuka is a Fighter type Buso Shinki figure, so all of the parts included with her look like they came from a broken up German fighter plane. When Asuka is fully armored, she sports wings, bombs, a propeller and even landing gear on the legs.

The box is a book-style box with a velcro flap. Inside there are clear plastic trays with TONS of accessories.

The basic body is slim and frail looking, but the figure is sturdy and poseable - moreso than either the Figma series or the Fraulein series, its two main competitors. Limbs can be removed, added on to, and reconfigured in any number of combinations. They have even included various faces and hairstyles. Really, there are almost too many accessories to talk about.

The fighter parts are highly detailed and feature multiple connection points. You can make the design shown on the box or you can mix up the parts to make up your own original creations. Konami includes new connector parts to enable you to push the boundaries of the possibilities.

A stand is included, and it attaches to the back with a dual peg system. The only flaw I can find with this figure is that when placing the figure on the stand with the armor on, the skirt armor has a tendency to pop off.

If you want the definition of play value - look no further. The Busou Shinki line features figures with endless combinations, and even a whole interactive on-line element. Check out some of these original creations. I had waay too much fun with these.
