(China Daily) FX has snapped up cable rights to three 20th Century Fox films, including "Max Payne," the current box office champ starring Mark Wahlberg.

FX also bought rights to a pair of weaklings released by its News Corp sibling, "The X-Files: I Want to Believe," starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, and "The Rocker," starring Rainn Wilson.

FX declined comment, but sources said all three titles carry four-year license terms, starting in late 2010-early 2011. FX is estimated to have paid a total of about $8 million for the three titles, based on the standard 10 percent-12 percent of domestic boxoffice.

"Payne" opened with $17.6 million this past weekend and has upped its domestic boxoffice take to $21.1 million through Wednesday. It's projected to earn a total of $50 million-$60 million domestically.

"X-Files," which was released in July, earned $20.1 million domestically, while "Rocker," which opened in August, took in $6.4 million during its run.
