John Mayer 'not over' Aniston

John Mayer 'not over' Aniston

John Mayer is not over Jennifer Aniston, claims his ex-lover.

The 'Gravity' singer is reportedly "pining" over the actress - who he split from in March after around a year together - revealed Scheana Marie Jancan, who dated the star briefly last month.

She told Britain's Heat magazine: "John was devastated at the break-up with Jennifer. He told me he really didn't think Jennifer would dump him - it was a complete shock to him. "He's never really got over it and he still talks about her a lot. He's been playing the guitar alone a night, pining over her."

According to Scheana - who met John at an event where she was waitressing - the singer is trying to get over his former love by "dating various girls". Despite regularly blogging about his personal life, John ended his romance with Scheana after she spoke out about him, and the aspiring actress admits she doesn't understand why.

She added: "I don't understand why he's so p***ed off with me for talking about us. I've been nothing but nice about him."

Victoria Beckham leaving LA?

Victoria Beckham leaving LA?

Victoria Beckham is set to move to Italy this summer.

The former Spice Girl - who is currently living in Los Angeles with her three sons while soccer star husband David plays for AC Milan - has decided she can no longer be apart from her spouse and wants them all to live under the same roof.

A source said: "Victoria loves America but all the flying back and forward is starting to take its toll, and being apart from David has been really hard for them both. She loves her friends and her life in Los Angeles, but it doesn't make up for the fact she is so far away from her husband.

At heart, she is a mum and a wife and she wants to do what is best for her family. "Victoria hated the idea of moving to Milan at first, but she's warmed to it. Plus, she doesn't want David to be on his own too long away from her and the kids."

David - who has been in Italy since January - is due to return to America next month to resume his contract with Los Angeles but it is thought AC Milan want to sign him on a permanent basis for next season, which starts in August.

Victoria is now searching for a family home and a school for their boys, Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and four-year-old Cruz.

The source added to Britain's Star magazine: "Victoria has said the kids were hoping to stay in Los Angeles, where they have settled in, especially Brooklyn. But they are used to moving a lot now.

They're well-rounded kids, so Victoria isn't worried about them adjusting to a new home and a new school."

Michael Jackson concerts may face legal challenge

Michael Jackson concerts may face legal challenge
U.S. pop star Michael Jackson gestures during a news conference at the O2 Arena in London March 5, 2009. Jackson said he will hold a series of final concerts in Britain later in the year. [Agencies]

LOS ANGELES- A music promoter plans to sue to block Michael Jackson from performing in London this year, claiming that a contract signed by the "king of pop" prevents him from giving a concert until July 2010, the head of the promotion company said on Monday.

New Jersey-based AllGood Entertainment Inc contends it signed an agreement in November with Jackson's manager, Frank DiLeo, committing the singer to perform in July 2010 along with his brothers from the Jackson Five and sister Janet Jackson.

Under the agreement, Michael Jackson cannot give another concert until that Jackson Family reunion show, said Patrick Allocco, managing partner at AllGood Entertainment.

AllGood Entertainment sent a cease and desist letter to DiLeo and to concert promoter AEG Live, which has signed Jackson to perform a series of 50 shows at London's 02 Arena starting in July, Allocco said. In the letter, AllGood Entertainment warned that its agreement with DiLeo barred Jackson from performing the London shows for AEG Live.

A source at AEG Live acknowledged the company had been contacted and called AllGood's claims meaningless. The source said rehearsals in Los Angeles are continuing in preparation for the July shows at the 02.

A representative for Jackson did not return calls.

Allocco said his company's plans to sue in federal court come after failed attempts to negotiate with Jackson and reach a deal to allow the London shows to go ahead.

"As of right now we've gotten zero cooperation from anyone, Frank DiLeo refuses to honor our agreement and that's why we're filing a lawsuit by week's end," Allocco said.

AllGood Entertainment said that its one-time concert featuring Michael Jackson is scheduled for July 3, 2010, at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas. The concert would be available as a pay-per-view event over the Internet, Allocco said.

Jackson could make up to $30 million for the show, Allocco said.

"Thirty million for one show is unheard of, that's why we're so frustrated," he said. "Frank DiLeo is standing in our way. AEG has been constantly frustrating our ability to get this show."

Jackson's series of concerts in London also have been touted as unprecedented. AEG has said that, all together, the shows will gather the biggest audience ever to see an artist in one city.

Beyonce Knowles ready for a break

Beyonce Knowles ready for a break

Beyonce Knowles wants to take a two-year career break.

The singer-and-actress, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, is ready to put her work on hold so she can focus on her private life. She said: "My priorities are slowly changing. So after this tour I might be tired and want to take two years off. I've worked hard enough to be able to do that. I'm in a very good place."

Beyonce, 27, is already adjusting her hectic schedule to ensure she spends as much time with Jay-Z as possible. She explained to America's Marie Claire magazine: "We try to sync our calendars. I started working on my tour a year ago just to make sure that I had time at home.

Any other woman who has to go to work and pick up the kids and make dinner - that's way harder than what I have to do.

At least I can say I'm taking two weeks off and really take two weeks off." Despite her desire to step out of the spotlight, Beyonce admits she is a workaholic and her mother Tina - who accompanies her daughter whenever she tours - often has to persuade her to slow down. '24' star Sutherland charged over head-butt claim

'24' star Sutherland charged over head-butt claim
Actor Kiefer Sutherland (R) departs the New York Police Department's 1st precinct in New York May 7, 2009. TV star Sutherland was arrested by New York police on Thursday and charged with assault for headbutting another man. [Agencies]

Police say designer claims actor head-butted him

NEW YORK – Kiefer Sutherland was charged with misdemeanor assault Thursday for allegedly head-butting a fashion designer at a Manhattan nightclub.

The star of Fox television's "24" reported to a lower Manhattan police station in a Lincoln Town Car alongside his lawyers, but he did not speak to reporters.

Sutherland, 42, was interviewed by investigators, given a ticket, ordered to appear in court June 22 and released on his own recognizance. The minor charge is akin to a speeding ticket.

But the case could create another major legal hassle for Sutherland, who served 48 days in jail on a drunken-driving charge in California last year.

The designer, Jack McCollough of the high-end Proenza Schouler fashion house, claims Sutherland attacked him after an argument, leaving him with a cut on his face. The incident happened about 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Detectives were planning to question actress Brooke Shields as a witness because she was at the trendy SoHo nightspot SubMercer, in the basement of the Mercer Hotel, where the altercation took place. Drinks at the ultra-hip club cost around $15.

No decision has been made on whether the charge will affect Sutherland's probation for a drunken-driving conviction in Los Angeles, said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney.

Sutherland pleaded no contest to driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of 0.08 percent. He was sentenced to 30 days, in addition to 18 days for violating probation in a 2004 drunken-driving arrest.

Representatives for Sutherland, Shields and McCollough did not return several calls seeking comment.

Sutherland, who plays dashing federal counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer on "24," won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for best actor, and has been nominated multiple times for his work on the wildly popular show. His gritty portrayal of the counterterrorism agent has made Bauer an iconic character.

The current season — the show's seventh — finds Bauer scrambling through Washington to save the world from its latest bad day. Sutherland also has signed on for an eighth season. The show airs on Mondays.

Jack Black wanted 'orgy'

Jack Black was hoping for an "orgy" in his latest movie.

The Hollywood funnyman was thrilled when he read the script for 'Year One' as it involved a group sex scene but was left disappointed after it had to be toned down so younger viewers could see the film.

Jack said: "I just woke up one day, and I was like, 'I'm in an orgy!' But I forgot how you can't really show pumping. It all had to be strictly insinuated. What you see now is people feeding each other grapes and there are some make-outs and some meaningful eye contact but that's all."

Although he couldn't gorge himself on flesh, Jack does gorge on food every day.

He recently admitted he eats two breakfasts in order to temporarily satisfy his almost insatiable appetite.

He said: "My new thing is that I have oatmeal and ice green tea for breakfast. Then I have a second breakfast! I try to eat foods that give me energy to try to make it through the day.

"I try and work out but it's a losing battle with the fine food and good red wine that is available."

Michael Jackson former publicist sues for $44 million

U.S. pop star Michael Jackson gestures during a news conference at the O2 Arena in London in this file photo from March 5, 2009.[Agencies]

LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson's former publicist filed a $44 million lawsuit on Wednesday against the self-styled "King of Pop" for failing to pay her for her services.

Raymone Bain, who represented Jackson during his 2005 trial and acquittal on child sex abuse charges and later managed his business company, filed a breach of contract civil lawsuit against the singer in Washington, D.C.

She said in a statement that she had decided "with deep regret" to sue Jackson, describing him as someone "whom I have greatly admired and respected."

But she added; "Unfortunately, Mr. Jackson has elected not to honor the financial obligations of our contractual relationship, despite my numerous attempts to amicably resolve this matter. I am sincerely disappointed in Mr. Jackson's failure to honor his obligations."

Bain, who trained as a lawyer, saw Jackson through some of the most difficult moments in his career. She became his public voice for much of the lengthy child molestation trial in California, Jackson's subsequent stays in Bahrain and Ireland and the financial difficulties that resulted in the sale of his Neverland Valley ranch in California last year.

In 2006 she was appointed general manager of the Michael Jackson Company, which handles his business affairs.

She said in the lawsuit that she was hired as a spokeswoman in 2003 and that from 2006, she ran every aspect of Jackson's life including arranging housing, emergency refinancing, travel and security and scheduling meetings with record producers as the singer struggled to reestablish his music career.

Bain joins a long line of former advisers, accountants and friends who have sued Jackson in recent years over broken contracts and unpaid bills. Most of the lawsuits have been settled out of court.

A son of the king of Bahrain reached an out-of-court settlement with Jackson in November over allegations that the "Thriller" singer had reneged on a recording contract and owed him $7 million.

Jackson's current spokesman, Dr Tohme K. Tohme, did not return calls for comment.

After years of living as a virtual recluse, Jackson recently announced a run of 50 comeback concerts in London, starting in July. All have sold out.

Bain's lawsuit cited media reports which suggested the London concert deal, which she said she had helped to negotiate, was worth $400 million in revenue to Jackson.

Bain said Jackson had agreed to pay her 10 percent of any deals he entered into as a result of her help but had not done so. She asked for $44 million in damages, plus lawyers' fees.

Jennifer Garner giggles at Gervais

Jennifer Garner giggles at Gervais

Jennifer Garner refused to film scenes in front of Ricky Gervais for their new movie.

The 37-year-old actress found working with the British comic star, who wrote, directed and starred in 'The Invention of Lying', impossible because he kept bursting into laughter and ruining their scenes.

She explained: "Ricky is very specific about things, although the worst thing about him as a director is that if something is funny at all - and it was very improvisational - he breaks and laughs and ruins your take. "I would say to him, 'It's your movie, but can you just leave? Maybe just go into another room?' But he knew exactly what he wanted."

Jennifer also revealed she dislikes working with her husband Ben Affleck - who she starred alongside in 2001's 'Pearl Harbor' and 2003's 'Daredevil', both of which before they began dating - and has vowed never to appear on screen with him again.

She said: "No, no, no. It doesn't work. It would just feel so incredibly weird. I couldn't do a scene with him for all the tea in China."

Jude Law happy with sexy Sherlock

Jude Law happy with sexy Sherlock

Jude Law thinks filthy language, homo-erotic overtones and bare-knuckle fighting are "quintessential parts" of 'Sherlock Holmes'.

The 36-year-old actor - who plays Holmes' faithful sidekick Dr. Watson in Guy Ritchie's new adaptation of the classic detective tale - doesn't think Hollywood writers sexed up the script.

He said: "The physicality, the bare-knuckle fighting, the martial arts are all hinted at in the books. We just hold a magnifying glass over them.

"A word that author Arthur Conan Doyle uses an awful lot is 'apprehended'. As in, 'Holmes and Watson apprehend the villain.' We get to show the apprehension."

When researching his character, Law turned to 70s TV series 'The Odd Couple' for inspiration.

He explained: "There are many duos we wanted to draw from. Something as eccentric as 'The Odd Couple' to 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid', 'Withnail and I' and 'Laurel and Hardy'.

"The friendship between Holmes and Watson is the kind of friendship you can only have with someone of the same sex, a person you adore but who infuriates you."

Robert Downey Jr. - who plays the title character - found his inspiration in Arthur Conan Doyle's original text, and now considers himself something of a 'Sherlock Holmes' expert.

He added to the USA Today newspaper: "Initially, we were just infusing the dialogue with Doyle-isms. Now we tend to speak a little more on his behalf. Truth be told, we have been working our butts off. We've been at it for a long, long, long time."

Vatican breaks silence on "Angels and Demons"

Vatican breaks silence on
A guide with the "Official Angels & Demons Tour" holds a copy of the book by Dan Brown while accompanying a group of American tourists retracing its plot at Saint Peter's square in the Vatican, May 1, 2009. [Agencies]

VATICAN CITY- The success of books and films like "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" should make the Catholic Church rethink the way it uses the media to present itself, the Vatican newspaper said on Wednesday.

The newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, ran two editorials on last Monday's premiere of "Angels and Demons" in Rome, ending an official institutional silence on the film. The editorials neither panned nor praised the film but rather offered up a mix of positive and negative comments.

One of the editorials called the film "ephemeral" but also conceded that it was "gripping" and called the camera work "splendid." It called the film "pretentious" but added that Ron Howard's direction was "dynamic and alluring."

One of the editorials, headlined "The Secret of His Success," said the Church should ask itself why such a "simplistic and partial" vision of the Church as portrayed in Dan Brown's works is so successful, even among Catholics.

"It would probably be an exaggeration to consider the books of Dan Brown an alarm bell but maybe they should be a stimulus to re-think and refresh the way the Church uses the media to explain its positions on today's burning issues," it said.

The film "Angels & Demons" sees symbologist Robert Langdon return to the big screen to try to help the Vatican rescue kidnapped cardinals who are being killed on the hour.

He also must stop a ticking time bomb by tracking down clues linked to a centuries-old secret society called the Illuminati.

Unlike its reception of The Da Vinci Code, the Vatican was officially silent in the run-up to "Angels and Demons," perhaps because its condemnation of "The Da Vinci Code" prompted an incalculable amount of free publicity that boosted box office sales.

"The Da Vinci Code" upset the Vatican and some Catholics because of its storyline, in which Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children, creating a royal bloodline that Church officials kept secret for centuries.

Howard accused the Vatican of trying to hamper his filming in Rome of "Angels & Demons," which had to recreate scenes of the Vatican and some Rome churches in Los Angeles.

The 'Gossip Girl' actress - who was joined by her boyfriend and co-star Penn Badgley at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala on Monday (04.05.09) - often opts for "ethereal" outfits on the red carpet to stop her looking motherly.

She said: "My style is always changing, but I always tend to look for something more ethereal and flowy and not as straight. I don't like anything too frumpy."

However, the blonde beauty insists she has no body image worries and is very relaxed about her appearance.

When asked about her fitness regime, she said: "Ask me in a month. I've been on vacation, so nothing. I ate a chicken pot pie before I came here!"

Robert Pattinson sheds "Twilight" image in film

Robert Pattinson sheds
Actor Robert Pattinson poses at the premiere of the movie "Twilight" in Los Angeles, California in this November 17, 2008 file photo. Pattinson explores new territory in his new film "Little Ashes" where he plays a young Spanish painter, Salvador Dali, who is sexually attracted to poet Federico Lorca, played by actor Javier Beltran. [Agencies]

LOS ANGELES- "Twilight" fans fell in love with Robert Pattinson as a vampire who makes girls swoon. But in "Little Ashes," which opens on Friday, the actor explores a relationship that could reshape his heartthrob image.

Pattinson, who turns 23 this month, plays surrealist painter Salvador Dali at a youthful stage in his life when he had a sexually charged relationship with poet Federico Garcia Lorca.

Pattinson took the role long before he became a sensation with legions of adoring, young female fans captivated by his portrayal of vampire Edward Cullen in last year's global box office smash, "Twilight."

Industry watchers say the success of the movie, based on a popular book series by author Stephenie Meyer, was largely due to girls imagining they -- not the film's heroine Bella Swan -- were being wooed by the fanged Cullen.

Pattinson, who has said he is straight, told Reuters he doesn't believe "Twilight" fans will think differently of him for his character's sexuality in "Little Ashes."

"I don't really mind either way," Pattinson said of his movie choices. "I'm not really trying to appeal to anyone in particular."

The British actor said the romance between Cullen and Swan somewhat resembles the attraction between Dali and Lorca in "Little Ashes."

"In a lot of ways, the storyline is similar to 'Twilight.' It's about two people who, for various different hangups and terrible insecurities, can't in any way consummate their relationship," Pattinson said.

AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER?

Made with backing from companies in Britain and Spain, "Little Ashes" shows Dali forming a bond with Lorca (Javier Beltran), and evolving from a quiet student to the famously eccentric artist with his long, pencil-thin mustache.

Dali and Lorca kiss and swim in the moonlight, but the painter eventually spurns Lorca's advances.

In 1969, the painter told an interviewer that he had rebuffed Lorca's attempt at a sexual affair.

"I was extremely annoyed, because I wasn't homosexual, and I wasn't interested in giving in," Dali said at the time.

Yet the film portrays him as a willing, if emotionally conflicted, participant. Dali died in 1989 after a decades-long marriage to Gala, who served as his muse.

Cooper Lawrence, author of "The Cult of Celebrity," said Pattinson is an icon to young women because he seems like the perfect boyfriend.

NEW YORK – New York City police on Wednesday were investigating a fashion designer's claim that actor Kiefer Sutherland head-butted him at a Manhattan nightclub.

Jack McCollough, of the Proenza Schouler fashion house, said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday, reportedly at the club SubMercer in SoHo, and claimed he was cut on his face.

McCollough claimed Sutherland, star of Fox television's "24," attacked him after an argument, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

The official said detectives plan to question Sutherland before the end of this week and might question actress Brooke Shields as a witness.

Nobody has been arrested.

Calls to representatives for Sutherland, McCollough and Shields weren't immediately returned.

Sutherland was released from a Glendale, Calif., jail last year after serving 48 days on a drunken driving charge. He had pleaded no contest to driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of 0.08 percent. Jessica Simpson: No Newlywed regrets

Jessica Simpson doesn't regret marrying Nick Lachey.

The 'With You' singer - who divorced Nick in 2005, after three years of marriage - is glad she was married, even though she hasn't spoken to her former husband "in years".

The 28-year-old singer also defended her decision to star in MTV reality show 'Newlyweds', insisting the programme didn't destroy her relationship.

She said: "The show made me understand what marriage is, what love is, what commitment is. In all honesty, I believe it did not affect our marriage. Because we enjoyed watching those episodes, and that will always be a time I cherish."

Jessica - who was just 22 years old when she walked down the aisle - revealed she has been desperate to find a husband since she was a teenager.

She added to Vanity Fair magazine: "It was what we all wanted. Go to college, get married, and have babies. It was my way of thinking. At 16, every boyfriend I had I was going to marry."

Jessica is now dating American football star Tony Romo, but the relationship hasn't been smooth sailing.

Fans of Tony's team, the Dallas Cowboys, think Jessica is unlucky, and have tried to ban her from all games to avoid the "Jessica Jinx".

She said: "We don't let it affect our relationship. If we did, we wouldn't be together, because it happened at the very beginning.

"Dating the Cowboys quarterback comes with hype, the fans, the bloggers, but I've never dated a guy that was more simple. I'm always there for him after a game, and he knows he has me to come home to."

Jennifer Lopez still shifting baby weight

Jennifer Lopez still shifting baby weight

Jennifer Lopez is still struggling to lose her baby weight.

The singer-and-actress, who gave birth to twins Max and Emme last February, can't quite shift the last few pounds.

Jennifer, who gained over 60lbs during pregnancy, said: "It's funny, once I gave birth I dropped 30lbs immediately and then the next 20lbs came off right away. When I did a triathlon, I dropped another 10, and with the last 10 I'm still struggling with. I probably have 5-6lbs more to go."

Despite gaining a large amount of weight, the 39-year-old beauty enjoyed being pregnant and revealed she and husband Marc Anthony would love to add to their family.

She said: "I think we'll have more children. I mean, it's fun to do all the things we do, but nothing feels like what it is to have children and to have that joy and purpose in your life of raising another human being.

"I had a great pregnancy, but I probably won't be as lucky the second time. It was great, though. I didn't have any of the bad symptoms, no morning sickness or anything."
