(China Daily) Cheryl Cole has been asked to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine.

The Girls Aloud singer has reportedly been approached to grace the front page of the biggest fashion magazine in the world, confirming her status as a modern fashion icon.

A fashion insider said: "Offers have been flooding in to Cheryl's management for her to do loads of big fashion glossy magazines, but they wanted to hold out for the big one.

"Cheryl was so excited when they got the phone call. They're looking at the February or March issue. Everyone in the fashion world wants a piece of her at the moment."

A host of top designers are desperate to work with Cheryl including Matthew Williamson, who has been personally styling her for her role as a judge on British TV talent show 'The X Factor'.

A source close to Cheryl, 25, said: "She looks fantastic and people really want her to wear their clothes. There is no shortage of designers wanting to dress Cheryl.

"She is naturally stylish and super flawless. Every store on the high street is looking to Cheryl to see what she is wearing."

Last week, Cheryl was spotted wearing an ultra-trendy dress by label PPQ at the Music Industry Trust awards show.

PPQ designer Amy Molyneaux said: "Her style has always been there, it's just now is the time for her to shine."
